Farnum Center offers a medical detoxification unit in Manchester, NH. Our staff works closely with your provider, including establishing one with you, if you are considering medication assisted therapy.
The residential programs are non-medical, however we have medical staff available for your needs.
Yes. Medications are allowed with a medical order and clients have access to them with staff supervision. We encourage everyone to discuss their medication needs with our staff prior to admission. If you are entering the detox or residential program, it’s important that you bring your medications with you.
Per state regulation, over-the-counter medications are allowed only if a provider has approved of them on the waiver form.
While no testing is required, other than the Physicians Waiver, we suggest checking with your PCP for any specific medical needs. Many times, physicians will order blood work to assess the level of intoxication, liver enzymes, and CBC. Some physicians look to screen for communicable diseases. If you have any specific questions, contact your PCP.
We do have physicians at Farnum who can tend to the medical needs of clients if they occur. It is important to have your Physicians Waiver as close to admission as possible. Visit our forms page under the resource tab to download this waiver.
If a medical need arises, or there is an appointment already scheduled, we will do our best to accommodate it. PCPs and their teams are encouraged to coordinate care with Farnum, we will do our best to accommodate them.

Our experienced staff will process the necessary paperwork directly with your insurance company to determine your out-of-pocket expenses; based on the co-pay, deductible, and the amount that your insurance company will authorize for treatment. Payment plans and financial assistance are available to those who qualify.
