The Farnum 7th Annual Virtual Spirit of Hope Event 2020
On August 5th, the community joined Farnum and Amy Coveno of WMUR TV to support those with substance use disorders, listen to stories of success, and to celebrate the 7th Annual Farnum Spirit of Hope Virtual event, presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. You can see it all right here by visiting www.bit.ly/Farnum-SOH-Video.
“The event raised over $82,000 which will directly provide much-needed financial assistance to those who cannot afford the cost of treatment,” said Kathleen Murphy, Sr. Vice President of Substance Use Treatment Services at Farnum. “We serve over 11,000 clients a year, including the most vulnerable in our community. This support is enough to sponsor over 200 days of residential care for individuals struggling with addiction. The need has never been greater, COVID-19 is causing increased need and a reduction in resources.”
Once again, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield stepped up to support the community, serving as the presenting sponsor for all seven years of this event. Lisa Guertin, President of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in New Hampshire, stated, “This year is teaching all of us the importance of being flexible, of learning to adapt to change, and of thinking creatively. Farnum excels at doing just that, adapting while always providing the same high-level care and compassion that they have for nearly 40 years. We’re very grateful for all that Farnum does to help those struggling with substance abuse in our state and we want to thank everyone for their support of Farnum’s mission which is more critical than ever.”
Farnum wishes to thank everyone who participated, the generous support of our sponsors and those who donated, as well as the Farnum team who tirelessly overcome the challenges of today to deliver compassionate care.
This year’s very generous sponsors include Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Sousa Signs, Amoskeag Beverages, Catholic Medical Center, Central Paper/Imperial Dade, Granite Group Benefits, Summit Diagnostics, Tufts Health Freedom Plan, AmeriHealth Caritas NH, Anagnost Companies, Bonneville & Son, Merrill, Mobility Services Inc., Wieczorek Insurance, Donna & Scott Bickford, Ian & Sue MacDermott, Kim & Tim Socha, Lori & Dave Levesque, Spradling Group, Primary Bank, and Families in Transition.
